"Together, the Washerwoman and I work. Sharing in these collaborative actions -stitch, scratch, wash, darn, rinse, repeat - she and I honour the generations of women who have engaged in various forms of the same stereotypically female centric labour which binds us across temporalities. Though there is kinship in the sharing of our work, there is also a stark contrast in the knowledge that she is frozen within the arduous task of her washing, whereas I hold the privilege to add to; to imagine a new life for the fabric beyond the domestic space."
